4 Special Recipes for a Festive Breakfast

1 July 2021

Holiday breakfasts are special times when families gather around delicious tables, complete with laughter, memories, and warm conversations. This festive season, elevate your breakfast table with four delightful recipes that everyone will enjoy!

1. Sautéed Tomatoes in Butter

Add a tablespoon of butter to a pan, sprinkle in some thyme, salt, basil, and red pepper flakes, and let it sizzle. Slice fresh, ripe tomatoes into thick rounds without peeling. Place the tomatoes in the hot butter and cook on both sides until golden. Serve with the melted butter drizzled on top for a simple yet mouthwatering dish.

2. Cheese-Stuffed Fried Bread

A twist on a classic! Start with two loaves of fresh bread dough from the bakery. In a bowl, mix shredded mozzarella, cottage cheese, or your choice of white cheese with finely chopped parsley. Take a small portion of the dough, about the size of a walnut, and flatten it in your palm. Place a teaspoon of the cheese mixture in the center, seal it, and carefully place the stuffed dough into hot oil. Fry until golden. The key is to ensure the oil is hot to prevent the cheese from melting out.

3. Menemen-Style Boiled Eggs

Boil four eggs until they’re hard-boiled. Dice one ripe tomato and one green pepper. In a pan, heat a tablespoon of butter and half a tablespoon of vegetable oil, then add the tomatoes and peppers, cooking as if making menemen (Turkish scrambled eggs). Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper. Slice the boiled eggs in half, placing them cut-side down in the menemen mixture. Spoon some of the tomato-pepper sauce over the eggs, cook for another five minutes, then serve.

4. Cheesy Sautéed Potatoes

If you love fries, try this tasty variation! Slice potatoes thinly into rounds. In a bowl, mix some vegetable oil, red pepper, salt, black pepper, and your favorite spices, then toss the potatoes to coat them evenly. Place the slices in a pan, laying them side by side, and cook until golden on one side. Flip them as you would an omelet, cooking until both sides are crispy. Once done, slice into triangles like a pizza and sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top before serving.

Enjoy these unique dishes, and may your holiday breakfast be filled with joy and delicious flavors!
